If I'm not mistaken, > come to mind from previous discussions two advantages: Alain, I read your posts on the Debian BTS, and you have pretty much summed up the situation with the patch as accurately as I know it. One might add another small advantage, which is that it is a little bit easier to set or unset $pgp_auto_decode on the fly than it is to define/bind/unbind the macro, but I don't think that's really a significant issue. I didn't realize this was something that Debian had incorporated... That makes me a /little/ more inclined to work on it (and/or to switch to Debian). But to be honest, these days I'm very much non-technically oriented, and I spend as much of my free time as possible learning Korean and traveling around Asia (or other interesting things), so I'm still not overly motivated to spend time re-learning the relevant sections of the mutt code. What remains elusive to me is that given the apparent desirability of this functionality, it remains excluded from the mutt source, despite no downside which is apparent to me... And without comment from the mutt developers. If someone with the ability to do so will commit to committing it to the main source, then I'll fix it by next weekend... I just really don't want to spend time on it anymore. So without such a commitment, I'd only do it on a whim. But I posted the patch on mutt-dev last week, so if anyone wants to fix it, they're certainly welcome to do so. I think I forgot to mention that these patches are redistributable under GPL.
