POSIX does indeed say that "head -1" is deprecated. That's not the same
thing as forbidding the feature, which is just as well since it's still
implemented afaik in the Unix platforms.
(and some of the "POSIXLY_CORRECT" features are designed to make GNU tools
incompatible with other tools ;-)
