Hi,

My system mail directory /var/mail has 755 (owned by root) permissions and
under that conditions the
system mail boxes is available in read only mode for the users under mutt.
(Mutt says the mail box is
unmodifiable) To get a properly functionality I have to put 775 on /var/mail,
but that is insecure,
to allow any member of the group that owns the /var/mail to erase the files in
it.

Thanks in advance,
D.

If you want to use a mode 755 /var/mail, please disable dotlocking
within mutt. (In fact, this should be detected automatically by
configure.)
