Ultimately, I suspect this will be the death knell of the US being
the incubator for new technologies. And I wonder if it won't be the
death knell of American prosperity, too.

I've been wondering when the alarm bells will be raised about nano and bio
tech labs being opened overseas rather than in the US. I don't have any
sources for this or know for sure it's happening, but logically, why open labs in the US when it's cheaper and regulation less onerous overseas? Same
with R&D.

At the point even the *new* high=tech jobs are moving off shore, everyone
should start seeing the writing on the wall.

I think the solution is to invest in University science and technology
research, as well as assisting small business ventures which are more likely
to keep jobs in country.

And my name is Penny Evans and I've just gone twenty-one
A young widow in the war that's being fought in Viet Nam
And I have two infant daughters and I thank God I have no sons
Now they say the war is over, but I think it's just begun.
