[IP] more on Stanford and Apple Present

Of course, lectures (especially guest lecture) have
been multicast on networks such as the MBONE for many
years. And Stanford has been delivering lectures over
their on campus cable system for longer than that.
But, of course, this development is much more
scalable. Viral, if you will..
I wonder how this development, along with initiatives
such as MITs Open Course Ware, will affect the
teaching of courses at a university. Might students
who are taking a course at CMU, for example, listen in
to a lecture at Stanford? Will there be meta-courses
combining material from many universities? Will
members of the faculty become disintermediated and
learning become more peer to peer....or have I been
listening to much Web 2.0 hype for too long.
