------- Original message ------- From: Gene Spafford <spaf@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: 8/4/'05, 8:23 Congressman Ehlers is circulating a memo to his colleagues in the House of Representatives, asking them to add their names to a request to keep NSF funded at a reasonable level. He points out that NSF funding builds for the national future in many ways. Readers in the US who are in favor of adequate funding of NSF should contact their elected representatives and urge them to co-sign the letter. A phone call or fax would help. Copies of the memo and the joint letter are enclosed. They don't ask for anything outrageous. In fact, they amounts sought won't even fix the problems identified in recent reports (dismal acceptance rates, problems in funding cybersecurity, etc). However, it would at least keep the NSF from making deeper cuts in an already dismal budget. --spaf ------------------------------------- You are subscribed as roessler@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx To manage your subscription, go to http://v2.listbox.com/member/?listname=ip Archives at: http://www.interesting-people.org/archives/interesting-people/
