Announcing the Fifth International Conference on Electronic Commerce
(ICEC2003) Pittsburgh, Sept. 30 - Oct. 3, 2003
This year's edition of the International Conference on Electronic Commerce
is organized by Carnegie Mellon University (CMU). The conference is taking
place at the Hilton in downtown Pittsburgh on September 30 - October 3,
2003.
As the leading eBusiness research conference, ICEC provides an
interdisciplinary forum where both researchers and practitioners come
together, present their latest findings and engage in discussions aimed at
charting the future of this fascinating and ever-expanding area.
Unlike more specialized conferences, ICEC2003 will feature technology,
management, and law & policy tracks. Keynote speakers include:
Glen Meakem (Founder and Chairman of Freemarkets) on
"The Global Supply Chain Management Revolution",
Jeffrey Ritter (Partner, Kirkpatrick & Lockhart) on
"Defining Systems Law",
James Hendler (Professor, University of Maryland) on
"Dynamic Service Choreography on the Semantic Web", and
David Farber (Professor, Carnegie Mellon University) on
"Digital Rights Management: Nightmare or Blessing?".
The conference will also feature a number of paper presentations and panel
discussions, including a plenary panel on "Next Generation Search
Infrastructure for e-Commerce" chaired by Prof. Jaime Carbonell (CMU), a
panel on "e-Commerce Applications of Semantic Web Services" chaired by
Prof. Benjamin Grosoff (MIT), and a panel on
"The New Supply Chain Trading Agent Competition" chaired by Prof. Peter
Wurman (NCSU).
