[ga] ITU Meeting May Decide Governance of the Net - ICANN under siege in EU?

All former DNSO GA members or other interested stakeholders/users,

See: http://www.theregister.co.uk/content/6/34163.html

Seems again the ITU has and has been up to it's old
fun and political games as it was back in 1996-'98.

And it also seems that much of the EU is unhappy
with how ICANN is managing the internet infrastructure.
Nothing new here though.. Same game, different time
and approach... Many of us here have seen, read,
and listened to this for over 5 years now... And with
good reasons the EU is not satisfied with ICANN's
poor performance and questionable activities of
many different varieties, not the least of which
has been financial mismanagement and improper
disclosure practices, or which they were successfully
sue over...

So now yet again in December, during the holiday
season here in the US, the ITU is yet again going
to flex it's political muscle in an attempt to carve
out at least a share of control of ICANN's territory
without much if any input from the stakeholders/users.

ITU or ICANN, a rose by any name smells the same...

And so this disruptive and disgusting saga rages on...

Regards,
