[ga] Discrimination against the visually impaired?
Hello,
On Verisign's WLS site:
http://www.nextregistrationrights.com/
there's a requirement that one enter a code, before placing an order
(ostensibly, to reduce robotic attempts to "mine" the service).
However, this also means that the visually impaired will not be able to
"protect their domain" or speculate on domains they don't own!
E-gold.com has a system that offers the choice of either a visual or an
audible test, thereby allowing the visually impaired access.
With 7 to 10 million people affected in the US alone:
http://www.afb.org/info_document_view.asp?documentid=1529
perhaps WLS should be delayed until a more inclusive system is
implemented?
I would think that ICANN Board Members, whose heads are in the sand so
very often, would be sympathetic to the plight of the blind.
Sincerely,
George Kirikos
