Subject: Draft Standardised Form of Authorisation for Transfers

Hello All,

The following Recommendations in the transfers policy relate to a
standardised form of authorisation.

Recommendation 8 (requirement for gaining registrar)
Recommendation 11 (requirement for losing registrar)
Recommendation 17 (language of authorisation)
Recommendation 18 (form must be useable in paper, fax, web, email)
Recommendation 19 (physical process for authorisation)
Recommendation 20 (record keeping)
Recommendation 22 (record keeping) Recommendation 23 (record keeping).

The Transfers Assistance Group to the ICANN staff have requested that I
seek input on a Standardized Form of Authorisation. See Elana's earlier
posting:
http://www.gnso.icann.org/mailing-lists/archives/registrars/msg00157.htm
l

Below is a draft standardised form of authorisation for use BEFORE a
transfer is initiated by sending a command to the registry. It is
derived from that used in the .au domain. I look forward to feedback
from registrars either on the list or privately if you wish.

Regards,
Bruce Tonkin

Subject: DRAFT Standard form for use by losing registrars after a
transfer is initiated

Hello All,

Further to my posting on a Standardized Form of Authorisation,
Recommendation 11 (b) and (c) refers to the ability for a losing
registrar to independently confirm that a registrant has authorised a
transfer AFTER receiving notice of a pending transfer from the REGISTRY.

Below is a modified version of the form of authorisation for use by a
losing registrar AFTER receiving notice of a pending transfer from the
REGISTRY.

Note that no other text is able to accompany this audit message,
although losing registrars are free to separately provide marketing
information aimed at retaining the registrant.

Again I would like feedback on the message.

Regards,
Bruce Tonkin
