Ahh, gotcha. Well, there's the "hard" way of simply editing the 
message (by default, that's bound to "e" in both the index and pager). 
Other than that, I don't know of a good way to push your change out to 
the mailbox. Perhaps you should submit a change request to the mutt 
developers.
