With more recent versions of Mutt (than you are using) you can do
<limit (bound to l by default)> ~X 1-

Not exactly, but you can configure what "~X" does. But for more
precise info, you probably need an external script that analyzes
your mailbox. Depending on your needs mairix
<http://www.rc0.org.uk/mairix> might be worth looking into.
