That sounds like a problem with your debian installation (...I don'tknow how to fix since I don't use debian). You could try to remove 'doc'from the 'SUBDIRS = ...' line in Makefile... but very likely mutt cannotbe linked too because of the above error. You can try this by runningjust 'make mutt'.
