macro for fetchmail stops working

My macro for fetchmail stops working, and I don't know the reason. The
macro is listed in the following:

# run fetchmail to get mail
macro pager,generic G '<shell-escape> fetchmail <enter>' 'Run fetchmail'

Any suggestion?
