No, you don't.Can you please try to pipe the mail through less(1) with $pipe_decode set and unset and then report back which one helps (i.e. where you see the whole URL in one line)?
I guess that from the name that you need to set $pipe_decode but that would decode the quoted-printable softbreaks into "real" lines.
