Change the Subject ?

I would suggest, instead of futzing with EDITOR (no idea what you would do with that --- edit headers? :P ), use something like this:

   send2-hook '~t @example.com' "push 's^A^K^M'"

Where ^A, ^K, and ^M are produced by control-v-control-a, control-v-control-k, and control-v-enter, respectively.
