I don't think there is anything that can really be done with that. If
I read a message and the entire top of my 60 line terminal is filled
with quoted text I just skip to the next message. If someone is
clueless enough to not trim their quoted text then I rarely find
anything in their posting useful enough to justify my time reading it.
Have you looked at t-prot? It is a display filter that works nicely
with mutt that collapses a lot of useless non-information in the
display such as you mentioned. It is quite nice and has a lot of
configurability. Worth a look.

Yes! I don't understand that one at all. I think there is an MS
editor that inappropriately uses an ascii tab character 0x9 as a
paragraph marker. If you find a solution to this one I would like it
too.
