I am a newbie mutt user. Mostly satisfied with it, although I am puzzled by the fact that some mail arrives with hard-to-read sequences of characters in place of apostrophes and quotation marks and other punctuation marks. It doesn't happen in all mail. Some is quite readable plain text, in others this irritating set of control codes or whatever they are bug the hell out of me. Can somebody explain what's going on here and how to fix it? Seth Williamson Daleville, VA
