That's a corrupted From_ line (a feature of the mbox mail storage format), not
a part of the email message itself. It isn't valid, and mutt is behaving
properly. The problem would seem to be that some other program is writing to
your mbox file incorrectly and corrupting it.

No. You need to fix whatever program is writing these broken From_ lines --
mutt won't do this.
