xbiff, Maildir and Mutt

Hi all,

Can anyone recommend an xbiff/xlbiff type program that can read Maildir folders 
?

OR

Any other methods of watching Maildir folders and alerting me to new mail.

I am using Mutt 1.5.6i (2004-02-01).
