I wouldn't mess with incoming mail with procmail/maildrop at all,
because it breaks lots of things (PGP signatures being one example),
you'll have to parse MIME & q-p stuff etc...

$display_filter is meant to be used for this stuff and doesn't modify
the original messages. Lots of people have written useful filters, go to
http://wiki.mutt.org/index.cgi?ConfList for a starting point.
