message-id annoyes recipient?

Hi, today i sent a message to a corporation. They contacted me saying
something like "your email address is not valid".

When i asked them about the address they specified (in order to see if
they were responding to my "From" address or to my "message-id"
address), they said "we just pressed the 'respond' key and, after a
while, the message was returned witha delivery error"

This didn't happen to me before since i am using mutt. I think that it
is possible that their mail agent is looking for sender's address into
the message-id field. I have used multiple mail agents and i never had
any problem receiving messages. So that's why i thought that their mail
was sent to my machine's domain instead of my From address, because my
local smtp is being filtered.

What is happenning?

Greetings,
