Typing `exec create-alias' seems to do it for me (but we use different
versions of Mutt). Or you could use the default binding `a' to get the
same effect.

Also, remember you can choose where new aliases will be saved by
setting alias_file. I find this more useful than just appending to my
.muttrc file.
