T              tag-pattern                    tag the current thread

from the fine manual, section:   4.2. Patterns
~N              new messages
~O              old messages

T~N|~O;WN
or
T~N|~O;WO

Tags all _New_ and all _Old_ messages, then removes the 'N' and 'O'
flags.  That is the same as marking as 'read'.

There is _no_ 'mark-as-read' function that I am aware of.
