Yes. This is the default behaviour if you compiled without
--disable-pgp. You can influence this by setting crypt_verify_sig
according to your wishes. It is a so called quadoption, so you
have the following choices:

set crypt_verify_sig=yes     # default
set crypt_verify_sig=no
set crypt_verify_sig=ask-yes # prompt, with default answer yes
set crypt_verify_sig=ask-no
