I do it, but with fetchmail (then I read with mutt) :
   
   # pop.gmail.com
   poll pop.gmail.com port 995 protocol pop3:
    username myself@xxxxxxxxx
    password MY_PASSWORD ssl
    fetchall
    batchlimit 1 # utile si le FAI utilise qmail
    is baruchel here
    mda "procmail -d baruchel"
