Question to "index_format"

Hello,

Curently I am using

    set index_format="%5C %Z %S %4c %d  %-26.26s  %> %n"

but this is not realy what I want, because if I am under X I like to see
more characters of the Subject.  Now I was experimenting with %n but it
does not work because I like:

    set index_format="%5C %Z %S %4c %d  %s  %> %14n"

Where %n id fixed to 14 characters and /s is dynamicly.

How must I do it ?
