Ok, first I want to say 'Thanks' to those of you who helped me troubleshoot the problem I was having with the pager. In my final message in that thread (SOLVED), I stated that I was starting to like the slang support, and the reason for that was consistent colorization. Now that I have switched away from slang, I am experiencing the recurrence of a colorization problem that has been around (for me) for a long time. As with the aforementioned thread, I can show you better than I can tell you... http://michael.gargantuan.com/images/mutt_ncurses_weird_colorization.png This is the mutt-devel port on FreeBSD. Here is the `ldd` output: # ldd `which mutt` /usr/local/bin/mutt: libncurses.so.5 => /usr/lib/libncurses.so.5 (0x280ef000) libssl.so.3 => /usr/local/lib/libssl.so.3 (0x28131000) libcrypto.so.3 => /usr/local/lib/libcrypto.so.3 (0x2815f000) libintl.so.6 => /usr/local/lib/libintl.so.6 (0x2824c000) libiconv.so.3 => /usr/local/lib/libiconv.so.3 (0x28255000) libgdbm.so.3 => /usr/local/lib/libgdbm.so.3 (0x28343000) libc.so.4 => /usr/lib/libc.so.4 (0x28349000) Here are the options that were passed to the port on compilation: WITH_MUTT_LOCALES_FIX=YES WITH_MUTT_IMAP_HEADER_CACHE=YES WITH_MUTT_MAILDIR_HEADER_CACHE=YES WITH_MUTT_SMIME_OUTLOOK_COMPAT=YES WITH_MUTT_PGP_PATCH=YES WITH_MUTT_NNTP=YES WITH_MUTT_EDIT_THREADS=YES WITH_MUTT_SIGNATURE_MENU=YES WITH_MUTT_IFDEF_PATCH=YES Now, this also happens with the mutt (non-devel) port on FreeBSD 4.8. I also observe the same behavior with mutt & mutt-devel on a CURRENT system which is 3 days old. Should I just chalk this up to some ncurses funkiness? I am also posting this on freebsd-questions since this could be independent of mutt. Thanks, as always. -- Mike perl -e 'print unpack("u","88V]N=&%C=\"!I;F9O(&EN(&AE861E<G,*");'
