I think David wanted to suggest that /if/ you are currently using X-Label for tagging messages (rather than displaying its contents in the index), you could use the first N columns of it to be displayed (%20.20y), and the remainder for tags. Otherwise, you loose, especially with %Y (in contrast to %y). Patching mutt to recognize "X-Label-2:" headers shouldn't be too hard; a generic mechanism to handle this stuff would be nice, though.
