Attachments deleted unconfirmed?

I ran into trouble by accidentally deleting the attachment of one
of my messages. The attachment just got quietly purged away without
asking. Has anybody experienced this problem?

Since mutt does ask for confirmation when expunging the deleted
messages, wouldn't it be logical to follow these same rules on the
attachment side? ... or maybe there is a way to nicely override this
quiet removal? Sort of a user protection mechanism.

I'm using the mutt version 1.4.1i.
