Trying to toggle between 'mailboxes' sets

Here's the setup:

Mutt 1.4 with the Imap Caching Patch

Mail from my mailing lists is filtered on the server
into a mailinglists/listname hierarchy.

Now, if i add everyone of the mailinglists/* hierarchy into the search
pattern with

'mailboxes mailinglists/foo mailinglists/bar'

performance suffers (there are something like 20 lists).

So i had an idea have 'browse list mode' where "mailboxes" contains
the mailinglist/* hierarchy only. And then have 'standard mode' where
only
my inbox and one other dir are in 'mailboxes'.

OK, so the way i 'toggle' is to source a file (via a key-bound macro)
called 'sourceme-mailinglists' or to source 'sourceme-standard'.

OK, so if i invoke the 'browse list mode' everything works, the letter
'c' changes me to the next folder with unread mail (yay).

Now the trouble is toggling back.

When i source the sourceme-standard file...well....if i hit 'c' i go
to folders with new mail in it that were in the mailinglists hierarchy
which I sought to exclude :(

This gets me exactly what i do not want - slow performance due to
trying to check the inbox, the mailinglist hierarchy, and my other
main receiving folder.

If you made it thru this posting thanks - let me know if you have any
ideas!
