I seem to recall that selecting wrapped lines in less never
worked...until it started working at some time. *shrug* I just tested
it with current less-436, it's fine in my terminal.

The only relevant change log I could find it this:

* Don't output extraneous newlines, so copy & pasting lines from the
  output works better.
