I also agree that $sendmail_wait is over-configuration. If at all, the
user should be able to chose between a blocking sendmail (in which case
the FCC can and should be written afterwards) and a non-blocking sendmail,
in which case it might well make sense to write the FCC first, then send,
and leave any error messages in a temporary file. After all, only if
sendmail blocks, then the user is returned to the compose window.
