Okay, this makes sense and it's a bit of a shame too. I understand that
send-hooks might well influence the headers, but I wonder why they
couldn't be used to modify an existing header, i.e. generate the header
and make it available to the send-hook, which could call my_hdr etc. to
make changes.
Other than that, I wonder if it would be possible to add a configuration
command like my_field which would allow me to add custom header fields to
the form in the compose window.
