The Grant Edwards patch predates SASL. You should be able to find an NTLM
module for your SASL library (on my ubuntu 9.10 machine it comes with
libsasl2-modules). If you have that installed, it may just be the format
of your username that's causing trouble, but I don't use NTLM and don't
know the expected format.
