#3298: Mutt's way to get the FQDN is broken
---------------------+------------------------------------------------------
  Reporter:  vinc17  |       Owner:  mutt-dev
      Type:  defect  |      Status:  new
  Priority:  major   |   Milestone:
 Component:  mutt    |     Version:  1.5.20

Comment(by vinc17):

 It would be surprising the POSIX removed functions that would not have
 their equivalent with the new functions. According to the
 [http://www.opengroup.org/onlinepubs/9699919799/functions/getaddrinfo.html
 POSIX getaddrinfo specification], it should be possible to get the FQDN by
 using getaddrinfo on the nodename of the machine with the the AI_CANONNAME
 flag (though I've never seen an explicit relation between the FQDN and the
 canonical name of the nodename of the machine). I've searched on Google
 and found a few messages that seem to confirm this, but I'm not sure.
