 {{{
I recently received mails with message IDs of the form
 <000301c9aacc$fbf88bb0$f3e9a310$@censored@web.de> (where the account name
 of
the guy in question has been replaced with "censored" by me). The message
 was
generated with "Microsoft Office Outlook 12.0".

With these messages threaded display does not work because of the second
 "@".
The replies to such messages are attached to the replied-to messages
 father
instead, or are put into their own thread if the replied-to message has no
father. Thread editing works only until the next time the Mailbox is
 reopened.

It's only the display part that does not work, if I reply to such a
 message
with mutt the message ID of the replied-to message will appear in the
"In-Reply-To:" and "References:" fields of the reply.

While such message ID are of course not standard-compliant it would be
 nice it
mutt could support them. I don't know whether Outlook or Web.de is the
culprit, but either way a substantial amount of sent mails is affected.
(Web.de is a big german freemail provider)

If you believe it helps I can create a sample mbox demonstrating the
 problem.
