Sometimes registrars re-register domains rather than let them be
re-registered by others, but they'll make the registrant pay a
redemption fee to get it back.
If you try to go to sigpipe.org, or try to resolve any hosts within it,
you'll see that it doesn't seem to be within ME's control.
