Problem cloning mercurial trees

I tried "hg clone http://mutt.kublai.com/hg/mutt-smtp";
but hg stopped while (or after?) "adding file changes".
No network or disc activity. So I had to push Ctrl-C.
I succeeded to "clone" hg itself (http://selenic.com/hg/).
So my settings were not wrong.
So I wonder whether you are allowing people to "clone"
your trees, or the trees are just too large for me?
Anyone succeeded to clone them?
