Please rtfm again, message-hook is not meant to be executed
before editing but before viewing only.
Consider other means (folder-hook, macros) for the goal you
want to achieve (my_hdr).
If you happen to view one but then reply to another before
viewing that you'll have the same problem.

BTW, don't touch 'return-path', this is meant to be created by MTA.
