This is the system I'm on. -bash-2.05b$ uname -aLinux my.shared.server.net 2.4.21-32.0.1.ELsmp #1 SMP Tue May 17 17:52:23 EDT 2005 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux
I've been told by a sysadmin that it's some flavor of redhat. ---I currently have curses.h, curses.h.in, curses.head, curses.tail and curses.wide in ~/ncurses-5.4/include.
ncurses itself was installed with --prefix=/my/home/dir/softwareinit0 said something about the C_INCLUDE_PATH in the chat room but, I'm not much of a C guy so I don't know what that means.

And are you sure curses.h is in that directory? What is the total include path that is used during compilation (probably a few lines before the snippet you posted). What system are you on? (a question that was asked to you on mutt-users, but has remained unanswered)
