LDAP query_command to use with Active Directory?

Hi folks,

My co-workers recently phased out our old Exchange server, I think it
was version 5.5 or something. Using Mutt to query it (query_command)
with a Perl Net::LDAP based script worked fine, I could pick recipients
using their surname + ^t and was happy with that.

We are now on Exchange 2000 with Active Directory only, and I can no
longer query the LDAP database (which is moved to a couple of Active
Directory domain controllers instead of having the mail servers support
LDAP themselves) anymore. I tried the old Net::LDAP script (also with
different bind statements to authenticate my own Exchange user and also
trying different search bases/filters) and the ldapsearch command of
openldap, with no success.

Has anyone looked into this and made it work so that you can query
Active Directory to get mail addresses from Exchange/AD?

Regards,
