I'll note that I've had this problem as well (in particular with
--enable-ssl, it compiles fine without it) and have worked around it
by not moving mail to my new workstation. :-) Since I plan to keep
my old (Redhat 7.3) workstation for a while, it's not been a problem,
and I'd been too lazy to gather enough information for a bug report.

I haven't tried older versions, but the two recent 1.5 releases, and
current CVS, both have this problem.

Also, I'm running 1.5.4 at home on a PC I've upgraded from Redhat 7.3
to Redhat 9, and it's worked fine since the upgrade, but I've not
tried to compile a newer version.
