Starting without any certificates (i.e. a non-existant certificates file),
I try to log into an IMAPS server/open the remote inbox. The certificate
information is displayed, immediately accompanied by two messages saying
"You cannot scroll up farther." and "Key is not bound.". I can then
decide whether or not I want to accept the certificate. If I accept it for
the current session only, everything else concerning that IMAP
server/folder seems normal; if I decide to save it, the login is
successful for the current session, too, but future logins will always
fail. (Testing with two different IMAP servers resulted in two different
error messages: "Login failed." and "CRAM-MD5 authentication failed.")

However, after removing "folder-hook . 'exec collapse-all'" (which is the
only folder-hook doing something else than setting the From: header over
here), the above does not happen, i.e. I can successfully authenticate
using a saved certificate and do not get any of the error messages
mentioned.

This behaviour has been confirmed in comp.mail.mutt, message-id:
<anaa1j$4a9$1@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>.
