Subject: Autistic child denied airplane boarding in India
Dear Prof Dave,
After hearing so many stories on Airport high handedness in the IP
list, this news caught my attention back at home. Indian Airport
security at Bangalore airport went overboard when they denied entry to
a autistic child to board plane. The officer was caught on camera
saying he can't allow a 'mentally instable person' to board the plane.
The 'instructions' are clear now who should board and who should not
board. Unfortunately these 'instructions' and resulting 'actions'
might be global in this age of globalisation. The child was finally
allowed to board, public outrage over this has forced a internal
government inquiry into this.
