Also, because BitTorrent is one of the preferred protocols for
downloading of pirated movies and similar fare, the software will
also doubtless turn many Opera users' computers into illicit sources
of copyrighted material and subject the users to lawsuits from movie
studios and sanctions from their ISPs.

This is a logical error and blatant scaremongering. BitTorrent does
not redistribute files or portions of files unless they are already on a
user's computer, unlike some other file sharing protocols. Therefore in
normal use Opera would only be redistributing files already downloaded
from the Web, which are generally made available for public distribution
either explicitly or implicitly.

To make the logical error clearer:

"Because the postal service is one of the preferred methods for sending
letter-bombs, the widespread adoption of parcel post will doubtless turn
many users into terrorists."

Regards,
        Andrew
