This IPTV stuff is no more IP than WAP was really the wireless
Internet.
I think you've completely misunderstood what IPTV is. IPTV is the
concept of using TCP/IP as a transport for digital television,
usually so that it can travel on the same physical infrastructure as
already existing IP traffic. Think of it as the OPPOSITE of the
cable modem protocols (allowing video over a data network, instead of
data over a "video" network).
It sounds like you're mixing up IPTV and the concept of "WebTV,"
which was having a web browser plugged into your TV. Your comment I
left in above is like saying "Cable modems don't allow me to watch TV
on my PC, so what do they have to do with cable?"
