This is a fabrication.
There is a very serious energy crisis unfolding, with urgent
ramifications for the country and the world. Simplistic and false
statements such as Warren's help not at all. Anyone interested
should read Deffeyes' book "Hubbert's Peak" or his more recent book,
or the book "Twighlight in the Dessert" by Matthew Simmons.
Because world oil production and North America natural gas production
are both peaking, or possibly past their peaks, the price of oil has
risen dramatically over the last 3 years, from in the $20/barrel
range to over $60 (natural gas prices have also changed just as
dramatically). The trend is up, and prices at the pump respond to
the trend. In my view, they will go several times higher in the next
few years. This has nothing to do with the short term fluctuations
in oil prices. It is a very serious problem, as it may drastically
alter world economies, and deserves serious discussion, rather than
amateurish comments.

Has everyone else noticed that -- when unrefined/raw crude oil
barrel- prices increase, there is a near-INSTANT increase in retail
pump- prices for the finished, refined product ... but when crude-oil
barrel-prices decrease ... gee gollie gosh ... it seems to take WEEKS
for the retail prices to similarly subside.
That's called "free enterprise" and "marketplace competition" ...
cartel-style!
