Subject: Convergence: Life imitates Art: Deep Throat Goes Hollywood
Dave,
Those who were predicting Media Convergence didn't
realize the real convergence would be between politics and
Hollywood (Pollywood?) Reagan, Schwartzenegger,
war as disinfotainment...
Now below, in the news, Watergate informer "Deep Throat"
(W. Mark Felt, former #2 man at the FBI) has decided to cash in.
He and his family will be represented by top Hollywood agency CAA.
So what next? Will we see "All the President's Men II", where
Nixon rises from the grave with supernatural powers?
Or here's a movie pitch-- while the #2 man at the FBI was leading
Woodward and Bernstein by the nose, what did Hoover know?
And when did he know it ?-)
As the old saying goes, "A man lives his life first as tragedy,
then as comedy."
Best, Ted

The Los Angeles Times reported that the family of W. Mark Felt -- who
confirmed last week that he was the source of crucial insider leaks for
Washington Post reporters Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein -- has signed
with CAA, and is looking for movie or TV deals.
CAA confirmed that it will represent Felt's family. The paper said
the deal
also includes John O'Connor, the attorney who wrote the Vanity Fair
article
revealing Felt as the mysterious source of information that helped
pave the
way for former U.S. President Richard Nixon's resignation in 1974.
Felt was the deputy director of the FBI during the Watergate
investigation.
