Verizon will do anything -- by hook or by crook -- to forestall any and
all competition. Note that the law protects them but not cable modem
providers. And it explicitly protects ONLY the ILEC, not CLECs. This means
that even an infrastructure-based CLEC gets no protection. The law puts
the Baby Bells in the catbird seat.
